Topics getting the most attention in Jurupa Valley public meetings, ranked by how frequently they come up.
Citywide truck route network and freight analysis
The city launched a truck and freight traffic study with state grant money and wants residents to fill out an online survey by February 11.
Mobility Element update and truck route ordinance
State law (AB 98) requires the city to establish truck routes by January 1, 2026 because Jurupa Valley is in a warehouse concentration district. The city is refining its proposed routes and wants public input at an open house Monday and via an online survey before adoption this fall.
Five-Year Capital Improvement Program
Eight new projects — streets, sidewalks, trails, landscaping and drainage — totaling about $8.2 million were found consistent with the General Plan. Highlights include the Limonite Avenue widening with storm drain work and city hall facility upgrades, with council budget adoption expected June 4.
Speed hump installation policy
The city's 2018 policy requires petitions from 75% of nearby residents before speed humps are even considered, and staff treat humps as a last resort. Council agreed the process feels opaque and wants a brochure explaining the options — studies, striping, feedback signs — and a clearer escalation path.
